This is the quintessential Arenal Volcano tour to do when you’re in La Fortuna!

Hiking around the Arenal Volcano is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that offers a chance to explore the natural wonders of Costa Rica. The hike takes you through lush rainforests, across rivers and streams, and up the slopes of the volcano, providing spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes.

During the hike, you’ll learn about the history and geology of the volcano, as well as the diverse flora and fauna that call the region home. You may even spot monkeys, sloths, and exotic birds along the way.

You will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano and its surrounding area. The hike is challenging but doable for most fitness levels and is a must-do activity for anyone visiting La Fortuna.

Your naturalist guide will provide important and interesting information about the main characteristics of the volcano, active since 1968, and many more important details of everything you will encounter alongside the trail. As an added attraction you can purchase an entrance to one of the hot springs. We will drop you there after the tour, so you can relax and we’ll pick you up a couple of hours later to take you back to your hotel.
